College Rankings

Many students and parents are interested in learning about how the 3,000 colleges and universities in the country are ranked. In response to this interest, National College Search has compiled a select list of the top 100 colleges and 100 universities. For your convenience, National College Search has also included each school's website to help you learn more additional information about any of the schools listed.

Our lists are designed to be a resource to students, parents, and educators as they begin to learn about the levels of selectivity that are reflected in various institutions throughout the country. Some of the factors used by National College Search in determining the rankings and listings include the following: SAT/ACT scores, GPA, class rank, percentage of applicants accepted, student/teacher  ratios, facilities, curriculum, retention and graduation statistics, and student services. Our readers are reminded that less than 10% of the nation's colleges and universities are included on the list.

Although our list is comprised of only the most highly selective institutions, it is not meant to imply that excellent choices cannot be found among the other less selective schools. We hope this list can serve as a useful tool for all students who are researching their college choices.
